Description

Kay Bojesen Oak Rabbit by Rosendahl

Created in 1957, The Rabbit is the youngest member of Kay Bojesen’s animal family. Made of white oak and treated with wood oil, it is an exact replica created from Kay Bojesen’s original drawings. Beautifully packaged in a giftbox, this would make an ideal present for a Christening or a newborn.

Kay Bojesen's intention was never to create exact replicas of wildlife, but rather to produce animals whose designs reflected a child's view of animals. His creations, designed between 1930s-50s, were to be based on simple, beautiful shapes, tactile materials and should inspire imaginative play. Thus his charming menajerie of solid, tactile designs took shape. Fulfilling Bojesen's dream, his playful collection of animals and figurines, now produced by the respected Danish Rosendahl Group, have become treasured classics the world over.

Size: 16cm
