Mats Jonasson Målerås Masq Sculpture Batzeba Gold

Design by Mats Jonasson

Subtitled All is Fair in Love and War?, Batzeba (also known as Bathsheba) is a symbol of love and beauty who was known for marrying King David after he had sent her husband Uriah to meet his death in battle. Hand made at the Swedish Målerås glassworks, this large cast crystal sculpture is sandblasted and then painted on the reverse before being signed on the base by the artist. A striking ornament or an unusual paperweight, this beautiful piece of Scandinavian art from Mats Jonasson would be appreciated by art lovers and glass enthusiasts alike and sits happily either on his own or as a group with the other masq sculptures in the rage.

Founded in 1890 in the town of Målerås Sweden, Mats Johasson's Målerås is the largest privately owned glassworks in Sweden. Using a combination of finely honed production techniques, an exclusive crystal recipe and a team of five talented designers, Målerås have drawn from Swedish glassmaking traditions and perfected their art with beautiful results of the highest quality.
