Mats Jonasson Målerås Tree of Life (Yggdrasil) - Large

The Yggdrasil, or Tree of Life, has its origins in Norse mythology where the giant branches of a sacred giant ash tree stretch up to the heavens while its roots reach the underworld below. Part of Mats Jonasson's series of 'Nordic Icons', this cast crystal sculpture is hand painted and sandblasted with striking results. The Tree of Life is available in three sizes which look good individually or as a group. Symbolic of the passage of life, this simple but striking sculpture makes a perfect gift to a new baby, for a Christening or a wedding.

Founded in 1890 in the town of Målerås Sweden, Mats Johasson's Målerås is the largest privately owned glassworks in Sweden. Using a combination of finely honed production techniques, an exclusive crystal recipe and a team of five talented designers, Målerås have drawn from Swedish glassmaking traditions and perfected their art with beautiful results of the highest quality.

Size: 130mm x 185mm

Colour: Green and Yellow

Conscious of environmental responsibilities, this sculpture has been hand-painted using organic colours.
